The Story of Gracie's Birthday Cake

I ordered the cutest cake for Gracie's Birthday Party from a bakery in Iowa Park. Bebe and Grandad were so nice to pick it up and bring it to Dallas for us! Well, it will be the cake experience I always remember. First of all Bebe and Thomas got stuck in traffic and by the time they got here it had slid out of the box. It wasn't a big deal. Thomas and Tyler went took it right away to a few bakeries around here. They were all closed....so they ended up at Kroger. The stock lady did a great job mending the cake as well as she could. Everything was great again until the next morning. Tyler took Gracie for an IHOP breakfast and let me sleep in a little. When I got up I was so excited for the events of the day when all of the sudden I looked at the kitchen floor and there was icing everywhere. Bella our Labradoodle had licked the icing off again. I started balling crying and called Tyler to come home. He took the cake to Steins Bakery and they fixed it. Needless to say we cut off the part Bella licked on before serving the cake. It will be the cake I remember forever! As Gram would say it is a chapter for the book!

Caroline and Gracie...a few forgotten photos

As I was downloading all of the pictures from the last few weeks I realized that I never downloaded the pictures from my little camera last month. I keep my little camera in my diaper bag in case I forget the big one. Here are some forgotten pictures that I thought were too cute to pass up!

Gracie goes to the Dentist

We headed to the Dentist for the first time last week. I was a little afraid that Gracie would be scared of him but I was wrong. Dr. Kogut's office was so warm and soothing. She didn't get scared at all. First, we brushed all the stuffed animals teeth. They had a frog, doggy and a cow. Then, Dr. Kogut came in and cleaned her teeth for her. She was so still and let him clean all of her teeth without putting up a fight. She thought she was there to show him how to brush teeth so he gave her a new toothbrush right away. Thanks Dr. Kogut for making her first experience at the Dentist a positive one! Gracie practices brushing the frogs teeth while we wait for Dr. Kogut.

Gracie Turns Two!

After a 2 week celebration of Gracie's 2nd Birthday we came home after Easter to do our Family Party. I can't believe my little baby girl is 2 years old. We have had sooo much fun with her over the past few years and God has truly blessed us to be her parents. Gracie is sooo sweet and loving towards everyone. We hope Gracie doesn't get used to these 2 week Birthdays! All she has been asking for is a pink bike and pink sunglasses. She had fun opening all her presents but I have to say she was wiped out from the last two weeks. Here are the pictures of her opening all her presents.
Gracie got some new sunglasses for her Birthday. Every time she puts them on she says "Hollywood"

Daddy bought her a new Mexican dress.

She also got a new puzzle...they are her favorites!

She loves it!

Daddy teaches her how to ride it by pushing it. Someday we will be able to take the handle off.

Away they went!

Easter

Easter morning it was raining in Houston so we did the Easter Bunny inside. We had a great morning filled with church and an Easter Brunch at Lakeside. Gracie got to see the Easter Bunny again and this time she wouldn't leave him alone. She wanted to be right by his side the entire time. Finally I had to tell her that the other children needed a turn with him. After brunch we came home and packed up and headed back to Dallas to celebrate Gracie's real Birthday with just our family! It was a wonderful Easter!

Leigh, Nanners, Kirsten and Matthew came to visit

After breakfast with the Easter Bunny we had some visitors. Leigh, Nanners, Kirsten and Matthew came to visit us. We had so much fun catching up with them. Nanners got to meet Caroline for the first time. Gracie got to open her Birthday presents from them too. Kirsten and Leigh gave her tons of high heals. She LOVED them!!!! She is always sneaking into my closet and putting on my shoes so this was perfect. Nanners gave her a Fancy Nacy doll which she has already put in the stroller and taken for a walk. Caroline got the Madame Alexander christening doll from Nanners and a beautiful pewter bowl from Kirsten and Leigh. I am so lucky to have them in my children's life. Gracie loves playing with them and still won't take her high heels off!

Breakfast with the Easter Bunny!

On Saturday morning we went to Lakeside Country Club with KayKay and Papa for breakfast with the Easter bunny. We had a great time. During breakfast they had a bunny playing the piano, jugglers, the Easter Bunny and a few other furry friends to entertain us. After breakfast all the kids headed to the front lawn for a big egg hunt. The children were all so cute! Gracie rushed out and found the Golden Egg. We were so proud of her! Then she would only pick up pink eggs. KayKay told her to pick up a blue camo egg and she got really close to it and stared at it but wouldn't pick it up. She is pure Girl! Thank you KayKay and Papa for taking us!

Easter Egg Hunt Party

Hudson and Mac had an Easter party last week. We had the best time hunting eggs. Gracie would only pick up pink eggs. It made me laugh so hard! I made her pick up some purple eggs for Caroline too. We had fun seeing all of our friends in their cute Easter outfits. Here are some of the pictures from the party.

Caroline's Baptism

Caroline was Baptized on March 28, 2010. She didn't cry at all when she was Baptized but loved to stick her hands in the water. She wore Gracie's dress and we are monogramming the petticoat with each girls name and date they were Baptized on. We had a great day starting out with Church and then ending up at our house for a brunch. Caroline was lucky to have all her family there...over 30 people! Thank you everyone for coming in for this and making this day so special for us.
