May 2010

Time has flown by!!! Caroline is almost 7 months and Gracie almost 26.
Gracie is such a joy! She is always cracking us up and making everyone follow the rules. She loved to talk to everyone everywhere she goes. After I pick her up from school she can tell me what they did, who was absent and who had to sit in time out. She has moved out of her crib and now loves her big girl bed. She knows her shapes, colors, letters, and so many words I couldn't even tell you how many. She is so gentle will all the little babies around. She is a great big sister to Caroline and has figured out how to share with her. It fills my heart with joy to see them playing and laughing together. Gracie reads to her, finds her toys for her and can always make her stop fussing. At her 2 year check up she weighed 26 pounds. She loves school and going to the park. Gracie is testing the waters a bit to see what she can get away with. She has quickly learned that her Daddy is more of a softy. Love and Logic has been a lifesaver the past few months to nip the twos in the bud. She is a also cautious child, always wanting to please. She loves to sort everything by color and build with Lego's. Puzzles are her FAVORITE things in the whole world and now she is doing 20 piece puzzles all by herself. She continues to amaze us and her teachers at school. She remembers EVERYTHING so we have to be so careful about what we say to her.
Meanwhile Caroline has grown into this adorable little girl. At her 6 month check up she weighed 13.2 lbs. She is a tiny thing but as busy as anyone could imagine. Her two bottom teeth appeared last week and she didn't cry about it once. Her favorite toys are her baby dolls, my iPhone, Sophie the giraffe and her singing Teddy bear. She is army crawling, rolling all around, holding her own bottle and going from sitting to the crawling position. The other day I walked into the room and she was standing in the crib. She has also taught her self how to escape out of the Bumbo. Although she is moving at a snails pace, she can get to anything she sets her mind to. We better all watch out for her when she starts moving faster. We all laugh at her as she jumps soo high in her Johnny Jump up and spins around in midair. She ADORES Gracie and always likes to play with whatever Gracie is playing with. Unlike Gracie, she doesn't mind being dirty. I set her in the sandbox and she can play for hours. She loves to play with the sand toys and especially pick up the sand and watch it fall. She can adapt to any situation better than any baby I have seen. When we took her to the museum she just hung out in the stroller and watched everyone. We didn't hear a peep from her. She is eating lots of foods now but her favorite is the Apple Vanilla Oatmeal by Gerber. We can't get it into her mouth fast enough.
The two girls couldn't be more different but I am so blessed they both are sooo sweet. Here are some pictures from the past month. We have been busy!
Caroline's first bite of cereal...I thought she liked it!
But not after a few bites.
Gracie helps Daddy do the yard.
She told Daddy "Two hands"
Caroline tried out her walker for the first time.
The girls love to play with their sandbox. After a while Gracie is tired of being dirty, but Caroline can sit in there for hours playing with the sand in her little hands.
I went to the restroom with both girls on the tummy time mat and came back to this. The girls are loving playing together. Gracie is quite the big sister always taking care of her.

KayKay & Papa Came to Visit

Tyler headed to Vegas for work so KayKay and Papa came to visit. We had the best time!!!! On Sunday we took down Gracie's crib and re-arranged her room to give her some more playing space. KayKay and I put together the impossible bed rail. Monday morning we headed to the Farmers Market to get some Veggies to cook for dinner and then headed to the Children's Museum. We had the best time! Here are some of the pictures and thanks KayKay and Papa for coming to visit us!
Gracie pretended to dig for Dino bones...
...she didn't want to get her hands dirty though.
Getting my shoes on but look at the giant dino above me!
I got so excited when I looked up and saw it!
Milking the cow...Gracie was afraid of this 3 months ago...she is getting so big!
Looking at downtown through the periscope.
Pretending to be a cow girl.
Driving the fire truck
Using the tools to make something like Daddy.
Papa chasing me in an astronaut hat at the museum
Popsicles after dinner...
...Caroline loved it the most. It felt good for new two teeth.
Gracie making mudpies with KayKay

Cutting it up so we could all taste a bite. Notice she isn't dirty at all. She hates dirt and would only use the spoons to touch the mud...she is such a girl! Caroline will play with anything!

A Visit to Wichita Falls

A few weeks ago we headed up to Wichita Falls for a visit. We had a great time. Grandad surprised us and stayed in town and watched the girls while we went to an engagement party. On Sat. morning we headed to Daddy's favorite taco place for breakfast. After that we got to hang out with Gangan, Nonnie, Brooke, Betsy, Baily and Molly for a bit. The girls spent the night with Gangan (Tyler's Grandmother) while we went to another shower. They had a great time with her and are so blessed to get to spend some quality time with her. We weren't very good about taking pictures, but here are the few we did take. Thanks for having us Bebe and Grandad!

Gracie loves to get ready with Bebe...she even loves to wear her glasses.

Ready to take Emma on a walk. The weather was cool so Gracie borrowed one of Bebe's jackets.
