Sweet Caroline's first ER visit

Caroline had her first trip to the ER today. Earlier today, Caroline fell and the door hinge punctured her ear. I rushed her to our pediatrician and he sent us to Medical City Children's Hospital. She had a 1 inch cut down to the cartilage. Poor Caroline. The plastic surgeon had to put in an iv and sedate her to get the 6 stitches in. Seeing your one year old sedated isn't fun! Everything is looking up and we go back to the plastic surgeon Thurs to make sure it is healing properly. He will then decide if we need to see the ent but for now it looks like her ear canal is fine. God was truly watching over her today! If she hit it anywhere else we would be in the hospital with a severe head trauma. Gracie was a great big sister and stood by telling Caroline she was so brave. We are glad to be home!
